From concrete look to dream palace
The elongated spaces call for a counterpart in organic forms, creating contrast and a homely yet chic hotel feel. The minimalist design is maintained by applying balanced color combinations and materials. A large gesture in the form of true eye-catchers in each room provides focus and simultaneously gives a clear function to the space.
Upon entering this apartment, a chic hotel feel is immediately established. The large round mirror reflects the glossy floor, the steel blue painted ceiling, and the particularly elongated wall lighting. The lighting in this home plays an important role; besides determining the routing, they are true eye-catchers and each fixture makes a statement.
The apartment was delivered as a shell, and the seating area was quite small, but by extending the wall and turning it into a cinewall, it was still possible to create a spacious seating area. All columns are tiled with ceramics that also recur in the hallway and on the cinewall, and are finished with a glittery sealant. The flooring plan (herringbone in elbow pattern, perfect for an L-shaped space), the custom work, the lighting, and the wall finishing provide a common thread throughout the entire home. The harmonized materials have a recurring factor that lays a sustainable foundation, creating a calm atmosphere.
