From concrete look to dream palace
The elongated spaces require a counterpart in organic shapes, which provides contrast and a homely yet chic hotel feeling. The minimalist design is maintained by applying balanced color combinations and materials. A grand gesture in the form of real eye-catchers per room provides focus and at the same time gives a clear function to the space.
Upon entering this apartment, a chic hotel feeling is instantly created. The large round mirror reflects the glossy floor, the steel-blue painted ceiling, and the remarkably elongated wall lighting. The lighting in this home plays an important role; besides determining the routing, they are true eye-catchers and each fixture is a statement.
The apartment was delivered bare, and the seating area was quite small, but by extending the wall and turning it into a cinewall, we still managed to create a spacious seating area. All pillars are tiled with a ceramic that also recurs in the hall and on the cinewall, and finished with a glitter-infused sealant. The flooring plan (herringbone in an elbow pattern, perfect for an L-shaped room), the custom work, the lighting, and the wall finishes provide a common thread throughout the entire home. The coordinated materials have a recurring factor, establishing a sustainable foundation and creating a peaceful atmosphere.
