Bold and Beautiful

Bold and Beautiful

Before the furnishing began, extensive renovations were carried out to make the outdated Amsterdam apartment suitable and also environmentally sustainable for the future.

The electric fireplace is the successor to the former fireplace and a part of the architectural element designed for the living room. The luxurious tiles used in the fireplace platform are in a slightly different shade compared to the beautiful bathroom and toilets where they are used as wall tiles.

The friendly character of the resident is reflected throughout the entire design. Therefore, you see many rounded shapes and soft fabrics, mixed with straight forms. The contrast extra emphasizes the soft character. Chairs with rounded shapes, an organically shaped sofa, round tables with thick legs, and round carpets and fixtures indeed dominate, interspersed with a sleek kitchen, a luxury gin bar, a straight dining table, and a straight desk. Due to the calm base of the floors and walls, the shapes come into their own beautifully. The seating furniture is made of cuddly and luxurious fabrics such as velvet and bouclé.

The master bedroom became the bigger sister of the guest room: The bed has robust, rounded shapes to radiate a welcoming atmosphere. The headboard of the bed consists of custom spray-painted panels. The inspiration for these panels comes from the facets in the oak interior doors. These robust doors became a basis for the new design. Only the door from the hallway to the living room was replaced with an aluminum door with glass to make the sightline to the living area as open as possible.
